We are a truly international Sound System based in The UK and The Gambia. We are on a mission to promote Sound System culture in all its positive aspects through playing uplifting music for all kinds of events. Our work in The Gambia brings opportunities that supports youth empowerment and community development through sound system culture. Our events reach thousands of people every month and the positive impact of such experiences reach far and wide.

Our Story

Dende built their first sound system back in 2013. The boxes came from various lock ups and garages around Brighton from old party rigs and an amp rack from the legendary, long-defunked Zap club. Inspiration came from the UK foundation roots reggae sounds like Jah Shaka and Aba Shanti but also from the free party scene in Norfolk back in the 90s.

Ed soon teamed up with Raph, aka Selector Bambaman who had a Jah Tubby's Pre-amp and the technical skills needed and the sound system journey began.

Since those early days of the sound Ed and Raph have collaborated with many local, national and international sounds running events and developing the sound system in so many ways.
